Diversity, distribution and conservation of land mammals from north-western Saudi Arabia: occurrence data and DNA barcode sequences

This interim dataset contains the occurrence data and preliminary DNA barcode sequences supporting the manuscript “Diversity, distribution and conservation of land mammals from north-western Saudi Arabia”. The occurrence dataset comprises 6,912 standardised mammal occurrence observation. Repeated detections representing the same standardised occurrence, including repeated camera-trap detections, were consolidated according to the data-processing rules used in the study. Observations associated with distinct biological samples selected for barcoding were retained as separate occurrence records. The nucleotide sequences require final quality-control and metadata curation before submission to GenBank and should not be considered the definitive archival sequence versions. The final curated nucleotide sequences will be deposited in GenBank, and the occurrence dataset will be published through GBIF. The resulting GenBank accession numbers and GBIF dataset DOI will replace this interim Zenodo reference in the final manuscript.
