Kalaoula mediolineata, complete mitogenome

Kaloula mediolineata Smith, 1917 is mostly found in deciduous dipterocarp forest in Indochina that is threatened by habitat loss and human consumption. In this study, the complete mitogenome of K. mediolineata was sequenced and annotated for the first time. As the results, the K. mediolineata mitogenome is 16,812 bp in length, a typical circular DNA encoding 37 genes (13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, and four ribosomal RNA genes) and a control region. The phylogenetic analysis reveals the taxonomic status of K. mediolineata, which is most closely related to K. conjuncta, and demonstrated the sister relationship of Kaloula species. This study contributes to our understanding of the molecular characteristics and evolutionary relationships of this species.
