The Effectiveness of Family Development Session on Independence and Social Welfare

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing family development sessions (FDS) on the independence and welfare of beneficiary families (KPM). Through a mixed method approach, the purposive sampling technique was used with the main data sources being KPM (450 people) and PKH companions (50 people). Triangulation of data collection was done through questionnaires, interviews, and document review as secondary data. Data analysis used a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test post-test group design model on the condition of independence of the KPM before and before receiving the FDS given by the PKH facilitator. The results showed that in 10 research locations 5 FDS modules were used as a reference for empowerment, to be applied in the daily life of KPM to improve in terms of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. The conclusion that FDS in 10 locations is effective in increasing family independence and welfare is known from the results of the analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. One of the recommendations put forward is the need for indicators that can be used to determine whether material from a module is feasible to be continued in the next module to KPM.
