资源简介:
Ship structures and their components are build mainly of steel. Hull steel is used to build the hull structure. Some structural elements, such as RSW (Refrigerated See Water) tanks, or LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) tanks - gas transported at temperatures below -162° C, are build from austenitic steels. Austenitic steels have a different microstructure and chemical composition than the ferritic (structural) ones. The consequence of this is their different corrosion and mechanical properties. Austenitic steels are said to be corrosion resistant (stainless). They are also much more plastic than structural steels. They plastic elongation at break, often exceeding 50%. High plasticity of austenitic steels is also proven in low temperatures (below -162° C) which is necessary to keep LNG gas in a liquid state. The dataset contains a recorded tensile test for austenitic steel marked 1.4571, (X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2) or AISI 316Ti. It is a steel with low carbon content. The tested specimen was cut from a part of the piping system of the ship's LNG gas tank. Test was performed in accordance to PN-EN ISO 6892-1: 2016-09 standard.
