A collection of bacterial genomes from cultivated human oral bacteria

Increasing investigations indicate that the oral microbiome plays an essential role in maintenance of human healthy. However, the repertoire of cultivated bacterial species and function of oral cavity remains largely unexplored. We herein construct a human oral bacteria culture and genome collection (OBCG), comprised of 1,089 high-quality isolate genomes. The OBCG collection contained 195 species-level clusters belonging to 5 phyla, of which 96 clusters were previously undescribed, representing the potential novel species of human oral cavity.
