Replication Data for: Analyzing EU Policies: The Transposition of Directives

In this project we aim to explain the differences in the transposition of European Union transport directives in national law by testing three major theoretical approaches on political decision making. Taken as a political process, transposition ultimately determines the contents of European policies, as citizens will perceive them. The project focuses on two aspects: (i) the speed of transposition, and possible delays that may occur, and (ii) the contents of the transposed directive and its possible deviation from the intentions in the original directive. These differences will be explained by factors that emanate from three institutional approaches, that is, sociological, historical, and rational choice institutionalism.
