Database of Unresolved and Mismatched DOIs with Associated PubPeer Discussions

This dataset contains a curated subset of scholarly publishing records flagged for containing unresolved or mismatched Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs). Each record maps a specific academic publication to its corresponding publisher, DOI, and post-publication peer-review discussion on PubPeer, started by Dendrographa Conformis. The purpose of this database is to facilitate bibliometric analysis, metadata quality audits, and investigations into scientific publishing integrity and technical inconsistencies in DOI registration. I would discourage using this data for quantitative comparisons among publishers, journals, or authors due to varying metadata quality across publishers and journals. The data will be updated regularly, but for the latest version, please refer to the Google Sheet, as it is the most convenient way for me. Many thanks to CrossRef for making this project possible.
