Social Impact Assessment for PVT4EU

Through a comprehensive Social Impact Assessment (SIA) guided by International Principles, the project evaluated four key performance indicators: social acceptance, market perception, energy access and affordability, and employment growth. These KPIs are evaluated from two different perspectives: Organizations and citizens perspective and manufacturers and integrators perspective. While stakeholder interest is remarkably high with 82% of surveyed organizations and citizens expressing a likelihood to adopt or recommend PVT technology there remains a significant gap between theoretical interest and practical implementation. The primary barriers are not just technical, but economic and educational. Industrial and public stakeholders remain heavily focused on financial risks, with 45% citing economic concerns as their leading barrier. This is compounded by a "skills gap" in the workforce; notably, 70% of academic stakeholders identified a lack of specialized installer guidance as a primary barrier to adoption. Meanwhile, manufacturers and integrators are optimistic about the future since 82% expected steady employment growth to varying degrees, but they stress that this growth needs robust government incentives and clearer policy frameworks.
