Host Associated Microbiomes

This project catalogues pregnancy (fecal and vaginal) and infancy (fecal) bacterial communities in humans using 16S amplicon metagenomic methods. We have yet to understand the full diversity and development of these important contributors to human health. This project adds to the ever growing body of data which will enable scientists to harness the power of our microbial symbionts.
