资源简介:

Shapefile and raster data of surface meltwater across the whole of the Antarctic Ice Sheet. The data relates to results published in Tuckett et al. Four datasets are included in this repository: 1) Annual (per austral summer melt season) 'maximum extent' raster data of surface meltwater. Files are in geotiff format, and have a pixel resolution of 30 m. These data are comprised of monthly data stacked on top of each other, across the melt season. 2) Annual 'Maximum extent' shapefile data of surface meltwater. 3) Annual recurrence frequency of surface mettwater, in raster form. This is a single geotiff file, with each pixel value indicating the number of years that surface meltwater was present in that location between 2006-2021. 4) Monthly shapefile data of surface meltwater. Please contact Pete Tuckett (pete.tuckett@york.ac.uk, petetuckett47@gmail.com) for any queries. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shapefiles come with the following attribute data for each individual surface meltwater polygon: dateStart = Start date for the time window that surface meltwater was mapped over. dateEnd = End date for the time window. numImages = The number of Landsat tiles that were used in the mapping process for the time window. windowDays = The length of the time window, in days. lakeArea = The area of the surface meltwater polygon. centroidX = X-value of the central point of the meltwater polygon (in Antarctic Polar Stereographic, EPSG:3031) centroidY = Y-value of the central point of the meltwater polygon (in Antarctic Polar Stereographic, EPSG:3031) tile = The ID number of the tile the polygon originated from during the mapping process - see methods of Tuckett et al. Grounded = The grounding status of the polygon, based on the Depoorter et al. (2013) grounding line dataset. 1 = Grounded; 0 = Floating. lakeElev = Elevation of the polygon centroid, based on the Reference Elevation Model of Antarctica (REMA). Slope = Slope of the polygon centroid, based on the Reference Elevation Model of Antarctica (REMA). GL_Distance = Distance of the polygon from the grounding line, based on the Depoorter et al. (2013) grounding line. Velocity = Average ice velocity at the polygon centroid, based on the MEASURES 450 m resolution dataset. Rock_Distance = Distance of the meltwater polygon to the nearest bedrock, based on the ice mask dataset generated during the mapping procedure.
