This series comprises newspaper clippings books relating to dealings between the State and Commonwealth Government. There are four books extant but the numbering indicates that volume 3 from the sequence is missing. The newspaper clippings are mainly from 'The Age' and the 'Argus' newspapers and are arranged chronologically in each volume. Each volume relates to a different subject:Book 1: Interstate Conferences; Brisbane June 1907; Melbourne April 1908; Hobart March 1909; and, Melbourne August 1909.Book 2: Finance/High Court Judgements.Book 4: Financial Agreements.Book 5: Financial Agreements; Federal Land Tax; Anti-Trust Legislation; Arbitration Court; and, Referendum Bills.Some doubt as to the provenance of this series exists as it may have been created by the Federal Parliament when it used the Melbourne Chambers during the first two decades of the 20th Century.
