EEG dataset of cognitive flexibility and resting-state before and after aroma inhalation

This dataset includes EEG signals and performance data from a cognitive flexibility task and resting-state. The participants were 20 healthy young volunteers, with an average age of 28.75 and had no odor allergies or history of Covid-19. EEG data was collected using a 64-channel waveguard™️ cap in accordance with the 10-10 international system. The experiment involved two conditions: one without aroma stimuli and one with lavender essential oil inhalation. Each condition included open-eye resting and mental task performing. The task-switching paradigm consisted of three blocks: Less/More, Odd/Even, and task-switching between the two. In the aroma condition, participants inhaled the Lavender essential oil five times at the start of each block. This dataset can be utilized to study the brain's response to aromatherapy using various statistical and data-driven methods.
