Dataset of the phenology of flowering onset for herbaceous and dwarf shrub species from the PEP database

Dataset of the phenology of flowering onset for herbaceous and dwarf shrub species from the PEP database (Templ et al., 2018) used in the paper "Phenological responses to temperature are similar across spatial and temporal gradients - lessons learned from European long-term data". The table shows the Day of the Year when the first flowers were observed and the mean annual temperature calculated from the monthly air temperature data at 0.1° spatial resolution from the Era5-land product (Copernicus Climate Change Service, 2019). The dataset covers the observation between 1950 - 2022 for 19 herbaceous species and 4 dwarf shrubs. PLEASE NOTE: If you use this dataset, you must, in addition, cite the PEP database as indicated in https://pep725.eu/dataset/ The R codes used for the analyses are also included.
