Dietary-nutritional intake in different spanish open water swimming (OWS) competitions

ESPAÑOL Datos recopilados y codificados de las competiciones de Travesía Costa da Coruña (28 de septiembre de 2025), la Travesía a Nado Alcaraván (3 de mayo de 2025) y la Montgó Experience (4 de octubre de 2025). El objetivo del estudio fue cuantificar la ingesta nutricional e hídrica y el cumplimiento de las recomendaciones en deportistas de duatlón y triatlón de media distancia en tres momentos: pre-competición, durante la competición y post-competición, así como evaluar la incidencia de molestias gastrointestinales y su relación con el rendimiento. La Travesía a Nado Alcaraván incluyó recorridos de 1.000 m, 3.000 m y 9.000 m; la Travesía Costa da Coruña ofreció distancias de 5.000 m y 10.000 m; y la Montgó Experience contempló tres modalidades: corta (1.500 m), media (3.400 m) y larga (5.800 m). El cuestionario utilizado fue el Cuestionario de Ingesta Nutricional para Competiciones de Resistencia (NIQEC). El archivo incluye bases de datos independientes para cada modalidad deportiva. ENGLISH Data were collected and coded from the Costa da Coruña Crossing (September 28, 2025), the Alcaraván Swimming Crossing (May 3, 2025) and the Montgó Experience (October 4, 2025). The aim of the study was to quantify the nutritional and fluid intake and adherence to recommendations of middle-distance duathletes and triathletes at three time points: pre-competition, during competition, and post-competition, as well as to evaluate the incidence of gastrointestinal complaints and their relationship with performance. The Alcaraván Swimming Crossing included courses of 1,000 m, 3,000 m and 9,000 m; the Costa da Coruña Crossing offered distances of 5,000 m and 10,000 m; and the Montgó Experience included three modalities: short (1,500 m), medium (3,400 m) and long (5,800 m). Data collection was carried out using the Nutritional Intake Questionnaire for Endurance Competitions (NIQEC). The file includes independent datasets for each sporting modality.
