Fire Districts

Fire Districts are determined based on the estimated shortest travel time from one of Durham Fire Department’s 19 fire stations to the given physical address. This map layer visualizes the districts, indicating the boundary lines between neighboring districts. As new streets or fire stations are added, or traffic pattern changes occur, fire district boundaries shift to accommodate changes in estimated travel time for emergency response units.
