VPRS 8796 Capital Expenditure Works Files: Primary Schools

This series consists of capital expenditure work files relating to the construction of buildings and further extensions of State primary schools.These files include the original paper (correspondence) setting out the case for the new building, or for additions; maps; plans; Public Works Department approvals; Minister's approval for expenditure; correspondence concerning the proposal; requisition for works; the letting of the contract and progress made.The contents of the files date from 1925 to 1979. The pre-1956 correspondence relating to capital expenditure works which should have been filed on the relevant building file have been filed on some files in this series with a notation "Noted on building file". The post 1975-76 correspondence relates to the correspondence exchanged with the regional office about the school.
