Tomato/potato psyllids, Bactericera cockerelli, is a major insect pest on potato and tomato. Psyllids transmit lethal bacterial pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum (CLso) and cause significant damages to the crops. Identifying conserved genetic regulation in both species will provide prime gene targets to engineer crops against CLso and/or psyllids. However, a robust genetic regulation which provides resistance to CLso and/or psyllids in both species is largely unknown. In this work, we have generated transcriptome profiles of potato and tomato by RNA-seq to discover conserved and orthologous gene coexpression modules in response to cold (CLso-) and hot (CLso+) psyllids
