The complete mitochondrial genome of the freshwater fish Hemibagrus filamentus

This project involves the assembly of the complete mitochondrial DNA genome of Hemibagrus filamentus. Muscle tissue samples were used for total DNA extraction. The entire mtDNA sequence was amplified by two PCR reactions from the total DNA sample. Each PCR product of 9000bp was purified from the agarose gel and then size selected before being mixed together in a 1:1 ratio. The mixture of the two PCR products was further processed with the Rapid Sequencing Kit V14 - gDNA (SQK-RAD114) and then sequenced on the MinION Mk1D portable sequencer
