Report on the Review of the Nuclear National Policy Statement of the UK

Report on the Review of the Nuclear National Policy Statement of the UK 3 and 4 of the Nuclear Power Plant Mochovce was entrusted to the Austrian Ecology Institute together with the Consuls Helmut Hirsch and Oda Becker of the Federal Environment Agency — on behalf of the Ministry of Life — to draw up a technical opinion on the Environmental Impact Statement (UVE). This expert opinion contains, inter alia, a list of 13 issues that need clarification in order to be able to assess possible cross-border environmental impacts. A public hearing was held in Vienna on 25 October 2009 as part of the cross-border EIA. Bilateral consultations followed on 24 and 25 November 2009. The Austrian delegation led by the Ministry of Life included the authors of this statement and representatives of the Federal Environment Agency and the Federal States of Vienna, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Styria and Salzburg. On the Slovak side, under the leadership of the Ministry of Environment (MZP), representatives of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ÚJD) and the consensus seeker, Slovenské elektrárne a.s. (SE), supported representatives of the Ministry of Environment (MZP)
