Anthracnose causes great economic loss to papaya (Carica papaya L.) production. Colletotrichum brevisporum is a pathogen that causes anthracnose in papaya. Although many genes and biological processes involved in anthracnose resistance have been reported in other plants, the molecular mechanism of papaya postharvest fruits response to anthracnose is unknown.This study revealed the basic mechanism of postharvest anthracnose resistance of papaya and screened potential candidate genes or major regulators associated with anthracnose resistance.
