Annex III. Lithuanian karst region boundary M 1:50 000 (INSPIRE view service)

Map of the boundaries of Lithuanian karst regions M 1:50 000 shows the limits of the spread of the karst and karst sufos process in Lithuania. The karst process in Lithuania involves dissolution and removal of plaster. During this process, voids are formed in the depths of the earth, and surface karst forms — sinkholes, deflections, etc. may form on the surface. The map is drawn up by analysing and determining the prevalence of karst relief forms and taking into account the available geological information (the presence of bitter rocks, plaster weights, the weights of gypsum rocks, etc.).
