Sediment core photographs collected aboard R/V Weatherbird II cruise WB-0814 in the northern Gulf of Mexico from 2014-08-14 to 2014-08-28

This dataset contains sediment core photographs collected aboard R/V Weatherbird II cruise WB-0814 in the northern Gulf of Mexico from 2014-08-14 to 2014-08-28. Sediment cores were longitudinally split and photographed with a Nikon D5100 digital camera with a scale in metric units (cm and mm) for a visual representation of sediment stratigraphy, color, and visual properties. The dataset contains an excel spreadsheet with the photograph filename, core ID, date, location and depth of sediment core collection. Cruise documentation was provided for the R/V Weatherbird II cruise WB-0814. The cruise was led by chief scientists Dr. Steve Murawski and Dr. David Hollander.
