资源简介:
In February 1998, St. Louis District personnel visited the Maryland Historical Trust in Crownsville to research archaeological and historic buildings survey work conducted on National Guard facilities in the state. Information from this research includes the history of cultural investigations on federally owned or federally supported Maryland Army National Guard (MDARNG) facilities and lists of historic buildings recorded within facility boundaries. Additionally, historic contexts and predictive models are discussed and a list is provided of Native American tribes that may be culturally affiliated with future archaeological collections recovered from MDARNG facilities. To date, no archaeological surveys have been conducted on Camp Fretterd (Montrose Military Reservation); however, the Montrose Mansion and Chapel are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Likewise, no archaeological or historic building surveys have been undertaken for Gunpowder Military Reservation or ‘Lil Aaron Strauss; therefore, these facilities have no recorded cultural properties.
