PUMS — Reference — Tramviary Transport — Florence Metropolitan City

The Urban Plan of Sustainable Mobility (PUMS) is the strategic document that aims to guide urban mobility policies for the next 10 years.The Florentine tram system, a reliable, regular, frequent and high capacity public transport network, plays a central role in the PUMS of the Metropolitan City. In the reference scenario of the tramway system, the extension of the lines in operation to 10 October 2018 and the lines financed is represented.The drafting of the PUMS is based on a scenario-based logic, aimed at verifying and comparing the effects of different possible strategies for the governance of mobility: the Reference Scenario (i.e. the interventions that can be carried out independently of the PUMS because they are already planned-programmed and already provided with financial coverage), the Plan Scenario (i.e. the infrastructural and non-infrastructure interventions, additional to the Scenario of reference that meet the general and specific objectives set by the PUMS), the evolutionary scenario. The geographical data of the PUMS published refer to the three scenarios of the plan contained in the approved tables.The Florence Metropolitan Council initiated the procedure for the drafting of the metropolitan PUMS and SEA verification with Resolution No 121 of 19 December 2018 and by Resolution of the Metropolitan Council No 24 of 21 April 2021 definitively approved the Pums-Urban Sustainable Mobility Plan of the Metrocity.
