Hydrographic data from EMSO-Azores observatory, 2016–2019 and 2023

This dataset provides the supporting data for the article: Fine-Scale Dynamics of a Hydrothermal Plume from LES and Observations at Lucky Strike, C. Lemaréchal, G. Roullet, J. Gula. This dataset comprises hydrographic and mooring measurements from the Lucky Strike site (37°17’N 32°16’W) as part of the EMSO-Azores observatory during the MomarSat Cruises. It includes: CTD casts (2016–2019): 51 profiles collected using SBE 19+ (2016–2018) and SBE 25 (2019) instruments at 1–8 Hz sampling frequency. Most casts were acquired inside the lava lake, with a few on surrounding mounds, reaching depths of approximately −1700 m. Mooring data (2016–2019, 2023): Measurements from a ∼1000 m mooring at ∼−1700 m depth, equipped with Aquadopp ADCP (∼1.5 mHz) and RBR loggers (Duet and Solo, 66.7 mHz). Moorings were deployed southeast of the lava lake (2016–2019) and inside the lava lake (2023). Data include temperature and three-dimensional velocity from ADCP instruments (2016–2019), and both ADCP and RBR measurements for 2023.
