Replication Data for: How does Sci-Tech Finance affect High-Quality Economic Development? An empirical study of provincial data in China

This study utilizes data from Chinese provinces spanning the period from 2004 to 2022,. It employs the entropy weighting method and text analysis to construct indicators that analyze the spatial impact of science and technology finance (Sci-tech finance) on high-quality economic development, using a spatial autoregressive model. Additionally, it explores the moderating effect of government emphasis on science and technology innovation on this relationship. Firstly, Sci-tech finance significantly promotes high-quality economic development, a conclusion supported by endogeneity and robustness tests. Secondly, while Sci-tech finance notably enhances high-quality economic development in the Western, Eastern, and non-Yangtze River Economic Belt regions, its impact is not significant in the Central region of China and the Yangtze River Economic Belt region. Lastly, the government's focus on science and technology innovation development significantly moderates the enhancement of high-quality economic development facilitated by Sci-tech finance.
