Telechelic and cyclic PLAs via REP with SDOL
收藏资源简介:
This data set comprises all raw data used for creating figures of a publication "Telechelic and cyclic Poly(lactide)s via Ring-Expansion Polymerization (REP) with 2,2-dibutyl-2-stanna-1,3-dioxolane" in the European Polymer journal. There, we describe the use and the efficience of SDOL as a catalyst for ring-expansion polymerization (REP). By means of MALDI TOF mass spectrometry a revision of the previously proposed polymerization mechanism was enabled. Our results show, that at low LA/Cat ratios and low temperatures, telechelic poly(lactide)s are formed, whereas at high LA/Cat ratios, cyclic poly(lactide)s are obtained. Moreover, at 140 °C, extended-ring crystals are the predominant reaction products. This study is particularly important because telechelic poly(lactide)s (PLAs) serve as valuable building blocks for (multi)block copolymers, which have promising applications in drug delivery systems and packaging.
