Skeletal muscle growth in agricultural animals is of interest to researchers due to its commercial value. The aim of animal breeding and husbandry is to produce greater muscle mass. Improvement in muscle quantity could be achieved by increasing the number of myofibers that differing in animal breeds of the same species. Myogenesis is a highly ordered biological process. Skeletal myogenesis is strictly regulated by various gene lineages. However, based on monitoring the expression of a limited number of genes, these experiments could not completely reveal the complexity and multiplicity of molecular mechanisms, especially responsible for the differences in myofiber number during embryonic development between animal breeds of the same species. Here, the embryonic transcriptomic distinctions between pig breeds differing in muscle production were carried out to reveal the underneath gene regulatory network.
