资源简介:
This series contains working plans and proposals for extractive industry licences, leases and search permits. An extractive industry refers to the extraction of stone from land for commercial or construction purposes. This includes building, road and manufacturing works, and the manufacturing of materials such as pottery, bricks, tiles and cement products. Stone extracted may include sand, earth or soil, clay, peat, quartz, gravel or slate, building stone, such as sandstone or freestone, basalt, granite, limestone or rock, or other minerals. The records in this series were likely originally held at regional offices of the Mines Department (VA 612). The content and quantity of records per application vary, but may include working plans, progress reports, correspondence, application proposals, geological analyses, aerial photographs, maps and plans. Extractive industries in Victoria were conducted under the Mines Act prior to the creation of the Extractive Industries Act 1966. This Act was amended in 1986, and then repealed by the Extractive Industries Development Act 1995. These records closely relate to the central departmental files of the Mines Department found in VPRS 10803 Extractive Industry Search Permits, VPRS 10804 Extractive Industry Licences, and VPRS 10805 Extractive Industry Leases. The files in these series comprise the applications which were marked as expired, cancelled, abandoned or refused.
