Data for the manuscript entitled "The distribution of herbivores between leaves matches their performance only in the absence of competitors".<br>We supply an excel file with three data sheets. The first one concerns the oviposition rate of T. urticae and T. evansi on old and young leaves of plants previously infested with heterospefics on one leaf for 48 hours or left uninfested. The second shows the carbon to nitrogen ratio on old and young leaves of each plant, as well as the oviposition rate of T. urticae or T. evansi averaged per leaves of each plant. Finally, the 3rd data sheet shows the choice of T. urticae and T. evansi between old and young leaves of plants previously infested with heterospefics on one leaf for 48 hours or left uninfested.
