Broadband infrastructure and urban entrepreneurial activity -- Evidence from a quasi-natural experiment in China

Our sample was selected from three years’ time span before and after the policy pilot period, which included data from 284 Chinese cities between 2011 and 2019. The Wind Database and the China City Statistical Yearbook are the main sources of our data samples. Partial missing values were addressed through the application of the interpolation method. After removing remaining anomalies and missing observation values, 2556 city-year observations are obtained.

本研究样本选取自政策试点期前后三年的时间跨度，涵盖2011年至2019年间284个中国城市的相关数据。本研究的数据样本主要来源于万得数据库（Wind Database）与《中国城市统计年鉴》（China City Statistical Yearbook）。针对部分缺失值，本研究采用插值法进行补全；在剔除剩余异常值与未补全的缺失观测值后，最终得到2556条城市-年度观测样本。
