Development of an annotated reference transcriptome for the amphipod Hyalella azteca using de novo assembly of male, female, and juvenile amphipods. H. azteca is a freshwater epibenthic amphipod of interest to ecotoxicology and evolutionary biology. The purpose of the submitted study was to determine baseline gene expression levels for H. azteca for use in genome annotation and for future ecotoxicogenomic studies.
