A 28" x 36" cross-section reinforced concrete column with the clear height of 8'-10" subjected to an axial load equal to 10% of the gross concrete compression capacity was monotonically push until the lateral resistance of the specimen degraded to 30% or less of the peak resistance exhibited during the test.
The test was conducted at the Multi-Axial Subassemblage Testing (MAST) facility at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
