European GBIF occurrence records of vascular plant species from the regional flora of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, Ukraine

This dataset contains georeferenced occurrence records downloaded from the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) for vascular plant species included in the regional flora of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine. Occurrence records were retrieved across Europe and used to characterize species distributions along climatic, topographic, and edaphic moisture gradients. The dataset was spatially filtered to retain a single occurrence per species within each 10 × 10 km grid cell in order to reduce sampling bias and duplicate records. The data were compiled for the development and validation of occurrence-based moisture indicator scales and for analyses of species–environment relationships.
