Chironomus kiiensis is a dominant species in aquatic environments in many parts of China and has the potential to become a model organism. However, little molecular information is currently available on C. kiiensis. In this study, we generated a high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly of the C. kiiensis genome. he final assembly yielded 174.94 Mb of data assigned to four chromosomes, with a BUSCO score of 97.2% for high completeness and accuracy.
