Study Description_Scoping Review the Culture of Respect

The culture of respect is a crucial aspect of medical learning environment, possessing many positive impacts toward the learning process, inclusivity, healthcare collaboration, and high-quality patient care. Ideally, the culture of respect should be cultivated during the medical education. However, previous studies lack of concise definition and detailed practices of the culture of respect in such educational setting. This scoping review adapted Arksey and O’Malley’s steps for methodological guidance. Five databases were scanned by utilizing specific keywords and searching strategy. The publication years was limited within the last 15 years. The data analysis was performed using descriptive charting and narration.Out of 3900 articles searched, 169 articles were screened full-text and 49 full-text included for further analysis<b>. </b>The culture of respect in medical education were described diversely among studies, related to specific-contextual factors and lack of formal consensus. Further studies are required to evaluate the practice of respect in each educational setting, and pointed the key elements to cultivate respect in every medical educational institution
