Mapping Educational Disadvantage: GeoSpatial Visualisation of Government and Catholic School Sectors in New South Wales

The dataset is a collection of geospatial maps of the major population centres of New South Wales, Australia. Data visualisations map the relative disadvantage of government school and Catholic school populations. The visualisations were developed utlising ACARA datasets and QGIS geospatial software. A novel 'Relative Disadvantage Index' (RDI) is leveraged to illustrate where the ‘heavy lifting’ is being done in each of the Government and Catholic school sectors for the most relatively disadvantaged populations in any particular geographic location.For an updated online resource associated with this project, visit https://doi.org/10.26188/30316018.
