Agricultural LULC Ground Truth Data - Kundadam Block, Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, India (Rabi Season 2023 - 2024)

Rabi Season (November 2023 – January 2024) geotagged agricultural data from multiple villages and hamlets of Kundadam block, Tiruppur district, Tamil Nadu, India.

This dataset provides comprehensive land-use and land-cover (LULC) ground truth information for 260 plots. It includes crop type records, land classification (agricultural or fallow), and irrigation practices, supported by georeferenced KML files for spatial analysis.

The agricultural landscape is dominated by maize, mulberry, coconut, and sorghum, alongside a significant share of fallow land — indicating potential for improved land-use efficiency and crop diversification.

Irrigation practices, primarily drip irrigation, are documented with insights into groundwater usage. Most plots are supported by 3–4 wells on average. Open wells range from 60 to 110 feet, while borewells extend up to 1,600 feet, reflecting the area's dependency on groundwater in a semi-arid context.

Timestamped observations and plot-level imagery offer a practical foundation for analyzing cropping patterns, land use, and strategies for sustainable resource management in similar agro-ecological zones.
