(Zhu et al,.2017). It has the functions of purging heat, calming the liver , nourishing Yang qi and was first recorded in Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing (Li et al,.2018)and it is often used to treat cold, fever, chest pain, rib pain, irregular menstruation and uterine prolapse in the modern clinic application. The main bioactive chemical component of Chaihu is saikosaponin which is a kind of oleanane-type triterpenoid (Sui et al,.2015), including SSa, SSc and SSd (Yuan et al,.2017). SSd is the prominent chemical compound of Saikosaponin, with strong pharmacological activities such as anti-inflammatory (Huang et al,.2009), anti-tumor (Du et al,.2021), inhibiting kidney injury (Song et al,.2021) and anti-depression (Su et al,.2020).
