Potential Geothermal Triax Group (COP 15, Tretour 35) contour

Commissioned by the province of Zuid-Holland, IF-Technology carried out the study ‘Potential geothermal energy in South Holland’, 2 December 2016. This map shows the potential of the Germanic Trias Group. The depth of this formation varies between 2,000 and 4,000 meters below ground level. The potential for geothermal energy (GT) is shown in the power (MWt) and the energy quantity (PJ) that can be produced at a single conventional doublet at a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of 15 and a return temperature of 35 °C. Geothermal energy is also known as geothermal heat.
