Gut microbiota of native and invasive snails in Pomacea canaliculata-invaded areas and control sites

We collected the invasive apple snail (Pomacea canaliculata) and the native Chinese mystery snail (Cipangopaludina chinensis) from invaded areas in different ecosystems of Shanghai, Suzhou, and West Lake (Xihu, Hangzhou). In control sites, only the native Chinese mystery snail was collected. The gut microbial community structures of these snails were then analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing.
