In this work, single-chamber MFC biosensors were constructed, and the EAMs in the anode biofilm were acclimated at low and warm temperatures. After successful startup, MFC sensing tests were conducted at 10 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius using Pb as the target toxic substance to simulate toxicity shocks. The electrochemical and toxicity sensing performances of MFC biosensors were comprehensively evaluated. The underlying microbial mechanism was clarified through the morphologic observation of anode biofilm, measurement of cell states, and community analysis of the EAMs at the metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) level.
