Lavender cryptic virus: A novel member of Deltapartitivirus

We discovered a novel member of the Deltapartitivirus genus infecting lavender (Lavandula spp.) using long-read Nanopore sequencing following double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) enrichment. The virus was identified in Lavandula angustifolia, L. intermedia, and L. latifolia, with 100% identical RNA genomes across all isolates. The viral genome is tripartite. Taxonomic and structural analyses confirmed that it is a novel cryptic virus, tentatively named Lavender cryptic virus. This BioProject includes raw sequencing reads, annotated viral genome segments, and supporting Sanger-validated sequences.
