Mud volcanoes, which are surface manifestations of sedimentary volcanism, are a microbiologically understudied habitat. Sequence of the genome of a new isolate of the genus Sedimenticola contributes to the study of taxonomic and metabolic diversity of microbial communities living in terrestrial mud volcanoes.
