Raw X-ray diffraction datasets for human ferritin variants with Au³⁺-bound, reduced Au-bound, and mutant states

This dataset contains raw X-ray diffraction images and associated crystallographic data for three human ferritin variant crystal structures: Aβ3FTnAu3+ (PDB: 9W28), Aβ3FTnAu (PDB: 9W29) and mut Aβ3FTnAu (PDB: 9W2A). These datasets were used for structure determination, refinement and anomalous difference Fourier analysis of Au-associated ferritin crystals. Protein crystals were obtained by hanging-drop vapour diffusion using FTn or FTn variants concentrated to 10–15 mg ml−1. Gold-bound crystals were prepared by soaking Aβ3FTn or mutant Aβ3FTn crystals with KAuCl4 to a final Au3+ concentration of 1 mM. Reduced crystals were generated by sequential transfer into reservoir solutions containing NaBH4. Diffraction data were collected at beamline BL02U1 of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility. The diffraction resolutions for Aβ3FTnAu3+, Aβ3FTnAu and mut Aβ3FTnAu were 1.52 Å, 1.99 Å and 1.55 Å, respectively. The deposited raw diffraction datasets correspond to the structural models deposited in the Protein Data Bank under accession codes 9W28, 9W29 and 9W2A.
