Next generation sequencing of transcripts associated to four selected RNA-binding proteins in Tripanosoma brucei

We report the sequencing of mRNAs associated with four Trypanosoma brucei translation intiation proteins EIF4E3, EIF4E4, EIF4G3 and EIF4G4. To investigate if the proteins have redundant functions, we analyzed mRNAs subpopulations in cells submitted to RNAi of EIF4E3 and EIF4E4. The reduction of EIF4E3 protein levels did not change the profile of mRNA populations associated to EIF4E4. Overall design: mRNAs co-precipitated with rabbit polyclonal-antibodies against translation initiation target proteins from cytoplasmic extracts of Trypanosoma brucei cells, CLIP-Seq.
