In our study, we wanted to investigate differences in subjective pain perception, psychological perspectives on pain and the neurological pain processing between professional musicians, professional dancers and controls. For each participant, we conducted the quantitative sensory testing at the left hand and the left foot, had them fill out a demographics questionnaire, as well as the STADI-T, the PCS, PAQ, and the WAI-T and we recorded contact heat evoked potentials using an EEG for 15 noxious stimuli applied at each hand and each foot. We had 66 participants, with 22 per group.
