The brown-winged stink bug, Plautia stali, depends on essential symbiotic intestinal bacteria and develops a symbiotic organ in the posterior end of the midgut. This symbiotic organ undergoes drastic morphological change during metamorphosis. We try to find mechanisms that regulate the symbiotic organ's remodeling upon metamorphosis.
