Topics: 1. Oral part of the survey: general satisfaction with life in
the Federal Republic; evaluation of leisure time and frequency of
vacation travel; barriers to vacation destination; vacation
expectations and reasons for vacation; life style (scale); work
orientation; commitment in social politics; environment and
nature-conscious consumer behavior (scale); behavior with money
(scale); socially-oriented advertising messages expected by the
economy; detailed information about type and extent of newspapers and
magazines read as well as television and radio habits (media usage);
importance of social goals and distribution of responsibilities;
problem solving measures expected of the state or the economy as well
as personal willingness to solve problems; ability of the state, the
economy or the citizens in problem solving; readiness to accept
information about environmental destruction; preferred measures on cost
reduction in the public health system; visits to the doctor; health
precautions; attitude to chemistry (scale); attitude to and familiarity
with computers (scale); psychological self-characterization of

smoking habits.
Demography: age; sex; marital status; respondent lives together with
partner; school degree through night school; school education;
vocational training; occupation; employment; occupational position;
employment of spouse or partner; respondent fears unemployment or
change of position of partner; time of registering as unemployed; point
in time after which respondent has no longer been working; respondent
would like to be working (again) immediately or in a little while;
conditions accepted by respondent in order to obtain a job;
subjectively perceived danger of loss of job; length of unemployment in
the past 10 years; number of persons in household with their own
income; monthly net income of respondent; monthly net household income;
willingness to sacrifice income given leisure time compensation; size
of household; respondent manages household; composition of household;

Also encoded was: date of interview and weekday of interview; city
