Soil Moisture Gazel

A series of soil moisture measure was realized in the region Cévennes-Vivarais during autumn 2012 (SOP 1). It was realized in the sub catchment of Ardèche, the Gazel (3.4 km²) between 2012-09-12 and 2012-12-05. The measurements were taken on 6 plots, distribute on the whole of the catchment, thanks to probes moisture installed along a 50 m transect at 2 m intervals.<br />

Observing strategy: <br />
The measurements were made on 6 plots, distributes on the whole of the Gazel catchment. These plots were chosen according to the microwave line (which served in another study) to see if the variability of the rain along the link could see itself on the humidity of grounds. Another, they were selected to represent the difference of heights in this part of the catchment. On these plots, 6 transect of 50 meters were decided to represent the spatial heterogeneousness of the plot. Probes 6 cm Theta Probe (delata-T Devices Ltd, Cambridge) were introduced into the ground every 2 meters along every transects. Probes 6 cm were preferred to probe 16 cm TRIME PICO 64 TDR-SONDE because of the stony soil. In total, between 2012-09-14 and the 2012-12-05, 16 days of measures were realized, with 2500 measures of soil moisture approximately.
